thank allan,

you are right, some of our clients use ie6 and they are experiencing this
problem, other browers look fine.

Add a mime type to apache
For the extension that the .csv files have
And, then the BROWSER will open it as a 'save as' instead of showing it
The problem is infact your browser, not the web server
But, the browser is displaying it, because the webserver is saying that
it is a text file.

to all,

i've got a selection of csv files on my server that are available to
anonymous download. the server is set up as a webserver running
apache. the problem is that when i request one of the files to be
downloaded in the csv format they automatically open in the browser.
this
doesn't happen to zip or any other compressed files.

how can i stop this happening, it confuses clients on the network when
downloading these files.

thank you
tomas
