I have an SMC Ether-EZ (8416) installed on a FreeBSD machine that has been working flawlessly for a few months. My only disappointment was having to use the DOS utility provided with the card to set the IRQ, IO memory address, etc. - our FreeBSD machine had no DOS/Windows on it and we had to take apart another machine in order to confgure the card. I had expected this card to have 16K of RAM, but it only has 8K. I haven't performed any timing tests to see if this affects performance. Dan Eischen deischen@iworks.InterWorks.org
