Hello all.

Catching my FreeBSD 4.2-RELEASE system up to date on the schlew of
patches that have come out in the past couple of weeks.

I am having trouble with 2 patches.

The first one is the libc patch outlined in SA-01:40.

I fetched
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/CERT/patches/SA-01:40/fts.patch.

When I entered cd /usr/src/lib/libc
and then patch -p < /path/to/my/patch

I got the error:

<lots of stuff deleted>
Hunk #4 failed at 351.
1 out of 9 hunks failed -- saving rejects to gen/fts.c.reg
done
<more stuff deleted>

Then, when I ran make depend && make all install I got (after a lot of
complining and screen flickering)
*** Error Code 1

Stop in /usr/src/lib/libc.

??? What did I do wrong?

Moving on to SA-01:55

I downloaded the patch.  Upon running patch -p < /path_to_my_patch I
get:

<some stuff deleted>
|--- sys/i386/linux/linprocfs/linprocfs_vnops.c 2001/06/25
19:46:47	1.3.2.4
|+++ sys/i386/linux/linprocfs/linprocfs_vnops.c 2001/08/12
14:29:19	1.3.2.5
File to patch:

Whats going on here??? Did I not pat my head and belly at the same
time correctly?
