Perhaps.  Oh the other hand, if at any point it contradicts what God
has revealed about Himself, it would have to be rejected.  There are
in fact many Christians who believe in theistic evolution, including
the late Princeton theologian B.B. Warfield.  He was quite conservative,
but he thought evolution provided a great teleological argument for
for the existence of God.
