update: several minutes after I pulled the ath0 out, I got a dmesg reading: "cbb0: Danger Will Robinson: Resource left allocated! This is a bug... (rid=0, type=1, addr=11)" "cbb0: Danger Will Robinson: Resource left allocated! This is a bug...
