That was a great post.  Thank you.

I've been in this position in the past too.  One of my contracts
involved developing on Linux, when only 1 partition was available on the
development machine I had at home.

Returning to Slackware after several years of FreeBSD was a bit of a
pain, especially whenever I had to install third-party software.

I'm back to using FreeBSD now, though.  May you find the chance to
return to the FreeBSD "company" too :-)

  If FreeBSD can be used instead of Linux and perform the same tasks as
  that dreaded Fedora installation, see if you can convince the boss to
  use FreeBSD instead of the stupi^W^H Redhat installation.
