800 pages? Mine is more than twice that size, it's a monster! I once dropped
it on my foot and couldn't get up from the computer chair for three days :-)

I thought mine was. There doesn't seem to be anything missing, and it
describes how to do things so that even I can understand (and that's some
accomplishment!)

I haven't seen the first edition but from what you're saying there must have
been an awful lot of stuff added since then.
