Be nice to your walls, they keep rain and snow outside.  :-)

You could try doing a "binary upgrade installation" from a FreeBSD install 
CD-ROM; this will preserve your configuration and user files if you don't tell 
it to reformat your partitions.

Make a backup first, anyway.
