 I think these alien modules should still get pear- automatically.
 
 Would changing MASTER_SITES= to MASTER_SITES?= solve the problem without
 introducting PEAR_ALIEN variable?
 
 Perhaps also EXTRACT_SUFX= to EXTRACT_SUFX?= ?
