This introduces a bug that manifests itself in some shells not handling
keyboard signals anymore. With main.c:1.41 I get the following stty -a
output in bash (/bin/sh also suffers):

cchars: discard = ^O; dsusp = ^Y; eof = ^D; eol = <undef>;
	eol2 = <undef>; erase = ^H; erase2 = ^H; intr = ^C; kill = ^U;
	lnext = ^V; min = 1; quit = ^\; reprint = ^R; start = ^Q;
	status = ^T; stop = ^S; susp = ^Z; time = 0; werase = ^W;

with 1.42 I get:

cchars: discard = <undef>; dsusp = <undef>; eof = <undef>; eol = <undef>;
	eol2 = <undef>; erase = <undef>; erase2 = ^H; intr = <undef>;
	kill = <undef>; lnext = <undef>; min = 1; quit = <undef>;
	reprint = <undef>; start = <undef>; status = ^T; stop = <undef>;
	susp = <undef>; time = 0; werase = <undef>;
