FreeBSD can run it in linux compat mode.

http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/unix/8.x/8.1.1/enu/AdobeReader_enu-8.1.1-1.i486.tar.gz

extract it,execute INSTALL

and run with the script:

#!/compat/linux/bin/sh
UNAME_s=Linux; export UNAME_s
exec $THE_INSTALL_PATH/Adobe/Reader8/bin/acroread "$@"
