Thanks Johathan,

That works just fine,

My error was that I thought I had to tell it to mount at /cdrom, so I was
trying to use
	mount /dev/atapi1 /cdrom

and it wouldn't give me permission.

Your suggestion works just fine.  

I was just trying to make it too difficult.
