Me too.  Once.  When 3.0R happens.  Not before.

Why hasn't the ld.so patch been committed, as a workaround?  Short
of fixing the standard ld's treatment of weak symbols in multiple
libraries with a strong symbol in one of them, it's the best known
practice.
