I have a Via Epia PD10000 with the same CPU and use:

CPUTYPE=3D i686

Although it does not seem to be mentioned in  =

/usr/share/examples/etc/make.conf
anymore (afaik i686=3D=3Dpentiumpro), it works just fine.
