I have the dreaded sony cdu55 ide drive as my only cd in the office.

However, could I install fbsd on a totally separte box as follows:

hook up box two (the fbsd box) to the local lan using dos. then load fbsd onto
box 2 over the lan using the ide cd on box 1.

Will this bypass the hardware requirements of fbsd not liking the ide cddrive
because box 1 is running the cddrive?

I have ne2000 generic ethernet cards. will fbsd detect this ok?
