I just bought myself a Toshiba 3005-S304. So far, I'm very happy
with the machine. It came pre-installed with Windows XP, but I
just finished up employing Partition Magic's resizing tool in
order to free up a chunk of my disk for a FreeBSD install.

On to the topic at hand:

I am unable to get the system to boot an install kernel. I have
tried FreeBSD 4.4-RELEASE, today's 4.4-STABLE image, and the most
recent 5.0-CURRENT image (from last week). They all hang on an
unknown PCI device.

The 5.0-CURRENT kernels appears to yield the most information:

    pci0: <simple comms> at device 31.6 (no driver attached)

The STABLE images simply report an unknown device.

My problem appears to be similar to the one reference in the
following -mobile traffic:

    Pine.GSO.4.33.0108201916100.4020-100000@freke.odin.pdx.edu
    Pine.GSO.4.33.0108212012230.8116-100000@gere.odin.pdx.edu
    200108220601.f7M61eW72425@harmony.village.org

I would appreciate any help trying to track this problem down. I
don't mind doing any of the legwork, but I could use a push in
the right direction as to where to begin.

Thanks in advance!
