this is fixed as per 4.3. I think the problem was related to a linksys nic
that was causing the system to hang when being probed for.
I'm having problems finding the PR that i found the patch in. I'll keep
looking.
basicly i had to patch the kernel on a different system, then create the
boot floppies again with the new kernel.
