Yeah. Bad code in XFree86-4.1.0 (I've got the same problem - using "nv"
drivers). Since you're running xdm, X will auto restart; the only drawback
being the stupid XFree86.core file in /. I wouldn't worry about it -
it'll probably get fixed in the next release.
