Subject: Gnome terminal does not display VIM's extended characters (digraphs) properly

Hi:

I noticed xterm does this correctly, but gnome-terminal does not. If
you're in vim and type ":dig", you should see a list of the extended
characters available to you. With gnome-terminal you get a bunch of
reverse video question marks for the upper characters.

Is there some encoding/setting I need to tweak?

Thanks,

-Clint
