The lib/compat/libncurses.so.6 file comes from the compat6x package. However, as you found, that package on amd64 installs the amd64 compat libraries. You can grab the i386 version of the package from the FTP site and manually extract the libraries into the lib32/compat directory (it's just a .tbz file). Kris
