You're saying that USB modems are not good?  Are they winmodems too?

I'm looking for a fax-modem for a lap-top, and I don't fancy the idea of 
an external modem (via a USB-serial cable) because of the need for a power 
supply as well.  I do have a Cardbus slot, though...
