Totally agree..... Two reasons I loathe people emailing at the TOP of emails.... 1 - The whole point of quoting an email in your email, is to give the user some background to what you are referring to. Whenever I am reading an email I can scan what is quoted first, then read the reply. Allowing the reply to make more sense the *first* time I read it. Instead of reading the email, then having to scroll down to read what the person is referring to then re-read the email again to let it make more sense. 2 - It makes people lazy. How many times has a thread gone on between two Email-Toppers, only to have the email just get longer and longer and longer constantly requoting the entire thread every email. Its a pain in the ass and is totally unneeded (especially for those on any list in digest mode) Personally. the best (and only imo) method is, quote the relevant text you are referring to above what you are typing, and delete the rest. -- Chris Aitken - Administration/Database Designer - IDEAL Internet email: chris@ideal.net.au phone: +61 2 4628 8888 fax: +61 2 4628 8890 __-----------------------------------------__ # ln -s /dev/null /bin/laden If you don't like my typing, all flames to /bin/laden To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
