I have BSD 4.2 system, IPFW defaulting to deny, restricted set of open ports. In end-user terms, everything seems to be working correctly (mail, http, caching DNS, all services on internal network). However, natd periodically reports: natd[126] Failed to write packet back (Permission denied) I have IPFIREWALL_VERBOSE in the kernel, ip.inet.ip.fw.verbose and debug = 1 plus natd -unregistered_only -verbose -n xl0 (running foreground for debugging). I get plently of helpful messages regarding natd's activities, but can't seem to get any more detailed for the error reported above. Anyone have any suggestions ? Thanks in advance, Hervey.
