FreeBSD orwell.phoenix.volant.org 4.4-STABLE FreeBSD 4.4-STABLE #1: Thu Dec 20 01:18:10 PST 2001 broot@orwell.phoenix.volant.org:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/ORWELL i386
>Description:
The CUPS port does not list any parallel: devices in its available device list.

And yes, I have verified that my kernel supports parallel printers; and that /dev/lpt0 has been created. In fact, 'cat /etc/motd > /dev/lpt0' prints the motd...
>How-To-Repeat:
Make sure your kernel includes support for parallel printers and that you have a /dev/lpt0.
Install the cups port.
Start the CUPS daemon.
Run '/usr/local/sbin/lpinfo -v'.
Observe that the list of devices does not include 'direct parallel:/dev/lpt0' (or any other parallel: device)
