It's not actually a RAID controller; it's a SCSI controller with some 
RAID software.  Mylex make "real" RAID controllers as well, and we 
support the SCSI:SCSI ones (of course) as well as the PCI:SCSI ones (in 
4.x, and under 3.x with some patches and limitations).
