https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D210434 Bug ID: 210434 Summary: vt(4) default graph mode settings incorrect Product: Base System Version: 11.0-CURRENT Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Keywords: vt Severity: Affects Many People Priority: --- Component: kern Assignee: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: joeb1@a1poweruser.com Using vt graph mode as the default console driver effects every 11.0 user. = It completely changes the FreeBSD experience. It's detrimental to the public relations and the professional image of FreeBSD to publish the 11.0-RELEASE using vt with it's current default setting of graph mode.=20 In graph mode the look of everything shown on the console is different than what the user is accustomed to seeing and when switching between virtual consoles there is a 4 second hesitation.=20 vt should default to hw.vga.textmode=3D1 mode to be consistent with previous RELEASE versions of FreeBSD in what the console display looks like to the u= ser. Text mode returns the console behavior look and feel to be just like the (s= c(4) console and the hesitation when switching between virtual consoles no longer happens. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
