I have two 11.4-STABLE machines - one physical, on running as a cloud instance.
The cloud instances upgrades ports just fine. However, now and then, the
physical instance has trouble with a port upgrade because it cannot
find /usr/local/bin/nm ... but the program is present where it should be in /usr/bin/nm.

Any theories on why it's looking in the wrong place and why it only affects
one of the instances. (Both physical and cloud are upgrade simultaneously.)
