Then check the ldd output of
/usr/X11R6/lib/firefox/lib/mozilla-1.6/firefox-bin for any weirdness.=20
You should also rebuild firefox with -DWITH_DEBUG, then run firefox in
gdb to see if one of its components is crashing.
