You can also unplug the "hard" power switch (which is usually at the power supply on the back of the machine) and "hardwire" it inside the power supply. Of course, you have to be very careful doing that. The latter also works for non-ATX computer cases. Of course, it doesn't prevent anyone from pulling the plug from the wall. And apart from that, it might frighten innocent people when pressing the power button has no effect. They might think there's a daemon inside...
