Good to check, since this works for XFree 4.0.1 only... you can compile it 
with 4.0.2 (the current XF 4 version) but will find out that drm in the
bsd subtree and the rest is out of sync, at least for Matrox cards. I got 
patches from someone on this list that worked for me (4.2-STABLE and XF 4.0.2)
with G400. 

Unfortunately I'm not sure about the origin of these patches, otherwise I
would have put them next to the 4.0.1 instructions, if that would be possible.
