On 2001-05-18, Walter Betancourt scribbled:

# Is it practical or possible, to have this method ftp or however, to send
# backup to remote system to have an update replacement available ?

You can probably do something like...

tar cfzR /file_to_backup_to.tar.gz /path_to_backup

and then use rcp or scp to copy it over to another machine (the latter
is included with OpenSSH and transfers the file through an SSH
connection).
