I've rebuilt pxeboot from /usr/src/sys/boot. The last rebuild I did was to
enable BTXLDR_VERBOSE in the btxldr dir, but I'm probably going to remove
that since it looks like btxldr is completeing its job.

I have used a tftp client on my windows box to transfer the file across the
network, and I compared that copy to the original on the server and they
were both the same. I don't have a packet sniffer on my windows box, but it
should be easy to get one... or just attach my linux laptop to the lan and
sniff from there.

It should be. The machine had worked like a champ for 3-4 years before hand
as a FreeBSD server. Only reason I replaced it was the cpu was getting a
little too slow for my taste.
