Thanks for the tips

I did try to "static int BSDfix = 1 ;", however
mtr-0.41 core dumps and mtr-0.32 hangs...

The strange thing is that it only fails some times...
It is as if there's something on the stacks (TCP/IP) state that
leads to the problem, under certain conditions.
