With the release of Perl 5.8, I'll assume it's only a matter of time
before it ends up in ports.

Will the perl5 port be upgraded 5.6 -> 5.8, or is it time to make a
seperate port like perl5-current?

Personally, my vote is for a seperate port so people can choose between
the two..but that's just me.
