I started out being a whiz on Mac and PC, and thinking I knew my way around a UN
IX box decently as a user. Boy, was I proved wrong quickly! :-) I got a book cal
led "UNIX Unleashed" by SAMSnet, and it has been invaluable. It's not nearly as
in-depth as any of the O'Reilly books, but it at least skims on just about *ever
ything.* BSD v SysV methods of doing things, too. It's about 1800-200 pages, abo
ut $50, and is the only book I've *needed* to own so far, though I want about $3
k worth from Ora. :-)

SCSI is *not* magic. There are many technical
reasons why it's occasionally nessicary to
sacrifice a small goat to your SCSI chain.
