The current eclipse port works with gnome 2.10. For gnome 2.12 you will 
need to apply the patch from here:

http://andreas.syndrom23.de/dump/eclipse-3.1-cairo.diff

I'm not sure if it still applies cleanly or needs some manual tweaking. 
Alternatively, you could wait for an update to the eclipse port after 
gnome 2.12 hits the tree.
