Please no smart remarks, > I know I'm a rookie. There have been a couple of good suggestions. The "how can this be?" answer is: the "Capacity" is reported as a percentage of usable blocks. Notice that "Used" is still less than "1K-Blocks". 90% (generally) of the "1K-blocks" figure is available for normal use (FFS doesn't (didn't) work very well without a bit of elbow-room).
