I'm doing my backup with = BRU16 on these 3 drives parallel. I'm very satisfied. Each drive has a average transferspeed of 2 Mbyte/s, so I can backup 150GB at 6Mbyte/s without interaction. I also tested the drive a bit with tar and it seems to work very well. So ADR50 works on FreeBSD!
