FWIW, we use binary files on 3 OS's using CVS w/out any problems. However, you *MUST* use -kb (or use wrappers to auto-recognize them). But, binaries are not handled well or effeciently in CVS. It just makes things work better for our release engineer, which is why we paid to have Cyclic support them.
