Those questions ARE cr*p, aren't they? Well, the reason is probably
very subtile, and has to do with perjury sometimes being an easy to
prove reason for deportation. The personal searches are also very
offensive. Who cares if you have ever "sold your body"? It isn't
a good practice, but I do know people who have been able to grow
away from that destructive behavior...

Note that bureaucracies are not known for having a reasonable collective
intelligence. The further the bureaucrats and legislatures stray from
real life, the worse the situation gets.

It is very frustrating to me that there aren't more "furners" here, so
we can learn even more... I am one of those idiots that starts asking
questions about people, when I meet them... Sometimes it is off-putting,
because it is sometimes taken as being critical or nosey, but frankly
the way people live and their cultures are fascinating to me.

USA is a very desirable $$$ place to live, (in ways that might be
different than other countries), but isn't ideal for everyone. It
can be very very difficult to adjust to for people who have lived
their entire lifes in more socialistic countries, for example.

My opinion, is that home is where you want to make it. I sure wish
that we were more careful, respectful AND caring on how we qualified
immigrants though. At the frontier, our gov't is hostile even for
Americans.
