I had compiled it with GCC "2.95.4" (the one in FreeBSD 4.9-RC) and with
GCC 3.2.2 from FreeBSD 5.1.  Since you reported the problem, I tried GCC
3.3.2 from the ports collection and that worked too.  I ought to try
GCC 3.3.1, but I suspect it will work.

You may be right.  Have you tried omitting that?
