*sigh* On closer inspection of the FreeBSD ports package, the supplied
patch patches/patch-ad already has this code in it, as well as the code
for SKEY support. 

Ah well, it's interesting that so much discussion ensued, and no-one 
noticed that the code was supposedly already there.  I'll investigate 
this further, I think.
