I was getting this error when I enabled APM in my
kernel, and also set apmd_enabled="YES" in
/etc/rc.conf. Once I got rid of the APm stuff,
everything works just fine. My box is IBM
IntelliStation E Pro, don't know which chipset
is used on the motherboard.
