Thanx. ~ Desmond - reinstalling OS is not an option, just an rudimentary Wintendo urge :) What you need to do is a lot of reading starting with the handbook: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/index.html It has a nice section on ports. Also the freebsd java page will be a good place for you to read: http://www.freebsd.org/java/ I hope this helps a bit, but the best advise I can give is read, read, read ect.
