It likely has to do with the fact that laptop mobo tend to be really
cheap and it is easier to run one wire than two to the chip for the
pci functions.  I haven't looked at the code, but there are settings
for the chip such that interrupts for function 0 go to INTA and those
for function 1 go to INTB.  However, if the mother board has these two
wire or'd together it wouldn't matter...
