Try and boot to your previous kernel.  If that is broken for some
reason as well, boot with something like Fresbie and install a generic
kernel on your disk and boot with it.  To boot an older kernel, in the
boot menu, escape to the loader prompt
type unload
load /boot/kernel.old/kernel
load /boot/kernel.old/acpi.ko
boot
