            Bug ID: 207720
           Summary: x11/mate: No suspend support
           Product: Ports & Packages
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: amd64
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Many People
          Priority: ---
         Component: Individual Port(s)
          Assignee: gnome@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: allcoms@gmail.com

             Flags: maintainer-feedback?(gnome@FreeBSD.org)

I have installed MATE 1.12.0 under PCBSD 11 but the mate power menu / shut =
down
window doesn't give me an option to suspend . I am able to successfully sus=
pend
and resume my Haswell-based laptop from a menu option under PCBSDs Lumina
desktop and I can also successfully suspend and resume my laptop when runni=
ng
MATE under PCBSD 11 by running `acpiconf -s 3` from a terminal as root so I
know suspend works.

MATE under Linux lets you suspend as a normal user via a 'Suspend' button f=
rom
the MATE Shut Down window so FreeBSD should be able to do this too, at leas=
t on
hardware like mine that supports it.

Description :
MATE is a fork of GNOME 2.

It provides an intuitive and attractive desktop to users using
traditional metaphors.

--

Where does the name come from?

The name "MATE" comes from yerba mate, a species of holly native
to subtropical South America. Its leaves contain caffeine and are
used to make infusions and a beverage called mate.

--

This metaport installs MATE base (lite, a lean desktop) plus
extras applications such as text editor, archiver manager and
etc. If you do not want to have the bloats, please install
x11/mate-base.
