After fixing the port so that gscan2pdf 0.9.31 now starts, I'm back to
this problem:
scanning with gscan2pdf works, but as soom as I try to save, and hit
the "save" button, the gui hangs, and there is no more output in the
terminal / shell from where I started gscan2pdf.
Here is gscan2pdf --debug out after starting gscan2pdf:
