With all due respect for all opinions expressed on this issue, I
wonder we are making a mountain out of a mole hill :-)

As I wrote before, SC_TWOBUTTON_MOUSE was added because of the
following reason.

SC_TWOBUTTON_MOUSE is a quick and dirty fix. I didn't intend it to be
a permanent solution. If we can fix moused's -3 option, it can go.

At one time I tried to fix it (around 2.2.?) and still have a
half-finished patch. It has been on my TO-DO list for a long time. I
will put it up on freefall later today. So, if you are interested,
you may have a look and finish it.
