Hello - I had to install FBSD w/X version 4.01 I think and had the same
probelm. The fix I used was to go into the Xconfig file (in /etc as I
recall) and change the mouse settings, under pointing device section, from
the default to "auto" and it worked like a charm from there on. Since you
don't say which version of X or the version of FBSD you installed, this may
not apply. Hope it will help.

  Subject: Mouse

I have a ps2 mouse and it worked under the last install. Yesterday for
other reasons I have reinstall free BSD. I did nothing different on this
install, I have updated to STABLE and now I'm trying to install X and KDE.
Well my mouse wont work. I have tried everything I can find from the
handbook and searching the mail lists. I have tried every setting and I get
nothing. Is there possibly something I'm not seeing. It was right there the
last time I never even set up anything.

  Jk
